Ran Project Ares product deployment and backend development. Product deployment was initially focused on VMware deployments in Colocation and IaaS environments.Led Circadence's efforts to move Project Ares to the public cloud. Initial work included working with public cloud providers (Microsoft, Amazon, Google) to identify the best fit for our product and it's unique requirements to support secure, isolated sandboxes where users can perform realistic offensive and defensive cyber security mission scenarios.

Ran a distributed engineering organization specializing in cutting edge cyber security and network optimization products. Cyber security work was focused on Project Ares: an innovative gamified, cyber security training platform which utilizes AI to provide a 7x24 training environment for government and commercial customers. The cloud based product creates an immersive cyber security training environment where individuals, or teams, are faced with challenging offensive and defensive missions incorporating the latest threats and vulnerabilities. The Unity game engine is utilized for the user interface and game-based concepts such as leader boards, trophies and badges are incorporated to enhance the user experience. AI is used to provide and in-game advisor (IBM Watson based), an opponent, and automated scoring which allows the platform to run autonomously. Network optimization work revolved around a portable software platform which supports Linux, Windows, Android, and iOS operating environments. Under my leadership, Circadence was the first to develop a WAN optimization solution for mobile phones and tablets. Responsibilities included strategic technical and business leadership, team mentoring/personnel management, partnership/customer development, corporate IT, customer support, and technical oversight over all of Circadence’s development work.

Software architect and team leader for high throughput networking and security related products. Extensive experience developing security products: FIPS 140-2 level 3 Hardware Security Modules and processor based cryptographic accelerators. Extensive experience developing high throughput 10 Gb Ethernet switches and the management infrastructure needed to control/monitor them.

Directed software development for a free space optics (point to point laser) based communications company. Responsibilities included managing a team of developers, helping determine product requirements and architecture, leading engineering support of the products in the field, and direct development responsibility for key system functionality. The software development included embedded development using the VxWorks OS on the PowerPC processor as well as a Solaris based network management component.

Led development of high speed 32-bit and 64-bit PCI fibre channel adapters and device drivers for Silicon Graphicsä workstation and server platforms. Acted as lead software developer and architect, in addition to coordinating the hardware development activities for the 64-bit adapter. Was responsible for evaluation and selection of a 3rd party 32-bit PCI adapter. Through this effort I gained significant experience debugging PCI hardware. Software development primarily involved the PCI bus interface device driver and associated test and configuration utilities for both a 32-bit and 64-bit adapter. Additional work included debugging problems with SCSI, IP, and a high-speed proprietary protocol. All software was developed using C++.

Responsible for coordinating the engineering activities of a company specializing in network related printer enhancement products. Managed multiple projects whose focus ranged from printer management to electronic forms. Additionally, continued to make direct technical contribution, including software design and implementation, on several of these projects.

Participated in the high level design for the Gateway Management System as well as initial system prototyping. Helped develop an object-oriented design to support network management of unmanned gateways. Prototyping was done using C++.
