The scope includes Precision Health, Research, Advanced Sciences, Academics and Graduate Medical Education. Develops service line and/or group policies and authorizes their implementation. Detailed knowledge of the service line allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas. Provides vision and direction to senior managers in various areas, divisions, and/or operations. Recognized as an influential leader within the organization.This role is accountable for overall operations of Intermountain Precision Genomics, Intermountain Research Programs, Genomics Cores, comprehensive research within bioinformatics, genomic medicine, populations genomics, physiological, clinical, industry trials, behavioral and prevention in areas including but not limited to heart disease, neurosciences, critical care, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. Nursing research also connects to this role through a matrix relationship. This role has overall accountability across the system for proteomics, bioinformatics in clinical genomics, metabolomics, population science core, biomedical research excellence, genetic counseling service lines, medical genetics, precision medicine and precision health services across the system. The position is also accountable for the operational activities of precision immunology and immunotherapies.The position has accountability, in partnership with the VP / Chief of Precision Health and Academics, for graduate medical education operations across the system including residency and training programs, etc.
