Following this contract I was successfully appointed to the permanent role of Management Accountant in November 2013.I am responsible for a large number of areas within the Finance function, reporting directly to the Head of Finance and line manages a team of three.My duties include: • Preparing the Trust’s, and the four individual schools, consolidated monthly management accounts including full commentary. I subsequently present the accounts to each Principal and Business Manager.• Overseeing and reconciling major income streams from the EFA including GAG, SEN, Pupil Premium, Early Years and other Government grants.• Preparing monthly accruals, prepayments, deferred income lead schedules.• Month end reporting of operating results against budget and liaising with the Business Manager’s regarding over spend.• Oversee the monthly payroll and control accounts.• Producing the monthly Trust's VAT return.• Report writing and system’s controls for the accounting software.• Staff line management, appraisals, performance management and disciplinary.• Preparing the annual budgets for submission to the EFA.• Prepare annual depreciation budget based upon new capital expenditure and existing assets.• Liaising with external auditors and producing full audit work files.
