• Responsible for developing long- and short-term strategies related to economic and community development; marketing and recruiting to attract convention and tourism organizations to Sacramento• Identify, evaluate and recruit business/partnership opportunities both nationally and internationally; interface with local business, community organizations and local governments to recruit new and expanding convention business to the Sacramento area • Conduct and coordinate SCVB’s outreach and sponsorships with diverse community partners such as the Black, Asian and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, AAPPA, Organization of Chinese Americans; identify tradeshows and events for the SCVB to participate; provide reports and analysis on effectiveness of participation • Design and implement annual marketing/public relations activities for attraction efforts; oversee advertisement placements and location outreach in partnership with SCVB tourism & marketing departments • Responsible for managing business attraction projects from initial client requests for information and facilitate transfer to appropriate sales manager for ongoing account management • Respond to all local and national requests for information regarding the culture/diversity of the Sacramento region • Develop and maintain strong relationship with City of Sacramento, ethnic community, shareholders and local governments to solidify SCVB relationship within the community • Produce Sacramento’s annual Juneteenth Festival, a three-day festival celebrating the Emancipation Proclamation; coordinate all aspects of the festival including execution of sponsorship agreements, media, site selection and promotion
