I was responsible for the effective development, management, operation and administration, of a busy Public Sector energy procurement consortia, managing a flexible gas/electricity basket for 50 Universities and Colleges. As a Public Sector Not For Profit Company Limited by Guarantee, the continuing success of TEC involved influencing Higher Education/Further Education institutions to join TEC, develop the flex offering for my 50 clients and extend our services to the wider public sector. Additionally I ensured clients continuing use of developing services, which included a Bio-Mass Framework Agreement, Energy Performance Contracts through the Carbon Energy Fund, Power Purchase Agreements, Carbon Trading Club for larger users (EU-ETS), CRC Advisory service, access to services from organisations such as the Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges and other sector purchasing consortia services outwith energy and those services sub contracted to PCMG (gas/electric/telecomm audits), M&C (water audits),UTILYX (bill validation). My aim was to secure on behalf of my clients a cost effective, first class, quality procurement service from energy suppliers, act as a one stop shop for members on energy advice, whilst meeting targets, and keeping costs and bureaucracy to a minimum and to develop innovations in flex.I acted as an advisor to universities on matters of concern to them in relation to energy matters. My main area of work is ensuring consortium operations on a day to day basis met our client’s expectations, dealing with electricity/gas company Account Managers to ensure the smooth operation of procurement activities and maintaining the accuracy of the portfolio of sites.
