Payments handled with both credit card fiat and crypto tokens, with best ease of use in mind and fantastic UI/UX to onboard both crypto users and gamers.Architecturally, midnightsociety.com composes of a Next.js frontend cleanly decoupled from a Hasura based backend. Environments are cleanly separated into local, staging, production, together with Github based automated CI/CD pipelines. Leveraging Hasura, maximum dev velocity is achieved by generating base CRUD graphql apis, so work is focused on business logic only. Events driven architecture using change events captured from postgresql database allows highly modular logic, deployed as serverless functions. Security rules also cleanly encapsulated using this eventing system and Hasura’s RBAC.By building with mostly ephemeral serverless backend logic, triggered by database events or frontend requests, we've achieved both cheap hosting costs with our bursty traffic patterns, as well as quad-9 uptime and simple scaling. (compared to typical microservices with k8s container deployments) To enable this serverless-first architecture, we are pioneering patterns and structure to be event driven, which otherwise is often chaotic and scattered compared to singular microservices.

Built teams from scratch in Canada for Tiket (Indonesia), and led teams on Tiket Live streaming platform, vertically integrated Backend and Frontend. Built with limited resources, load tested to scale to hundreds of thousands of live watchers and live commenters. Architected with a Frontend heavy team, so with a BFF built to scale with low operational cost, released public MVP in 2 months. Typescript, PWA, and led experiments into E2E type safety. Hybrid BE leveraging Golang, Firestore/Node.js.Before that, led teams on delivering multiple cross platform mobile apps with React Native, with optimal UI/UX at native UI 60fps smoothness. With consistency across iOS, Android platforms in a single code base. RN apps delivered in less than 2 months from spec/mockups to MVP. Used E2E tests to scale complexity without regressions.Instituted rigorous code review culture and CI/CD pipelines integrating various tests (E2E and others), so teams can move fast without breaking things. Deployment with combinations of Vercel and Heroku for fast dev staging, and Kubernetes on GCP for scaled production. isoHunt.com was the leading BitTorrent / P2P search engine. According to Quantcast and Alexa, it was among the 200 largest websites in the world, with 40M MAU.I led engineering, while delegating server ops. Besides traffic scaling, I engineered dynamic search results before Gmail started and popularized Ajax. We scaled server hardware, network ops from scratch to 2 colocated clusters on 2 continents, before Cloud was a word (and made everything easy). We made custom master-master mysql replication work between the 2 geo separated clusters with HA, before any sharded cluster offerings came to market. We customized Lucene and created the most sophisticated BitTorrent search engine that returned highly relevant and quick results, scored using an isoHunt Rank algorithm I devised.We've worked with content producers in industries such as music, TV, movies, software and games, on how to best utilize the internet for efficient global distribution and social marketing. And that doesn't mean sacrificing value of their copyright.
