Gary Pennington has more than 35 years of experience in various industries, specializing in internal auditing, corporate governance, risk and compliance, and financial management. His global background and broad industry knowledge – coupled with his easy-to-work-with demeanor and keen grasp of business processes – make him an indispensable value to the teams he manages and clients. As a Partner for CyberGuard Compliance, LLP Gary is responsible for managing & overseeing the firm’s audit and consulting engagements, as well as overseeing global project management for many of the firm’s clients. His keen business acumen helps him plan and oversee COSO based internal audits, risk assessments, SOC 1, SOC 2, HITRUST, HIPAA, ISO 27001, Sarbanes-Oxley and forensic and IT consulting engagements. Throughout his career Gary has helped client’s align enterprise risk management activities with internal audit and internal control activities aimed at reducing or mitigating overall risk to their organizations.Before holding his position at CyberGuard, Gary was the Director of Internal Audit at Kyocera International, where he was instrumental in the creation and management of a highly respected, world-class internal audit department for the $13 billion corporation. His team-management abilities also made him instrumental in creating the internal audit departments for Halliburton Company, Boart Longyear Company, and Sun Healthcare Group.
