About Gary Vaughan
I am an avid traveler, and have lived for at least a few months on every continent over the last few years - as long as you don't count Antarctica. I currently spend most of my time on the Pacific Rim, between California, Philippines, Thailand, Hawaii and New Zealand.My position at The Written Word involves porting Free Software to commercial Unix, allowing SME's to purchase access to a repository of almost 500 packages, instead of wasting the time of a salaried systems administrator to find, port, compile and deploy those packages internally.And finally, I'm passionate about all the martial arts. Extensive travel has given me the opportunity to study with many Masters and Grand Masters. Over the last 25 years I've studied and graded in most of the important systems: Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Kali Eskrima and others.Specialties: Technical Writing, Software Engineering (C, Unix Shell, Lua, Python, Tcl/Tk, M4)Maintainer of GNU Libtool, GNU Zile and GNU M4
