My current focuses on streamlining and modernizing our infrastructure workflows. Leading the transition from traditional scripting to IAC and SDN using Terraform, Ansible, and AWS. This transition aims at creating a cost-effective environment while ensuring the redundancy of our production stack, which relies heavily on EC2 instances and RDS databases. Alongside these efforts, I am responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable QA and staging environments, which are crucial for our development lifecycle and overall service delivery.In addition to infrastructure management, my role extends to providing comprehensive IT support. I oversee and support computing needs for our team members, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed for optimal performance. I manage network support across approximately 10 locations, leveraging software-defined networking (SDN) to ensure seamless connectivity and security for both our company and our clients. My work not only enhances our operational efficiencies and cost management but also plays a pivotal role in supporting our company’s growth and our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers.

As a Systems Integrator, managed a diverse server environment comprising both Windows Server, SunOS and Linux operating systems. Lead the transition of our servers from being solely based on single operating systems to a VMWare virtualized environment. This optimized our server utilization and set the groundwork for enhanced system reliability and flexibility.Recognizing the potential benefits of cloud computing, investigated migrating our infrastructure from a colocation setup in a data center to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This exploratory phase was crucial in laying the foundation for a future-proof, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure.In addition to my technical responsibilities, I also led the IT department that specialized in Geographic Information System (GIS) work, primarily utilizing ESRI software. Overseeing IT security, ensuring robust protection measures were in place and adhered to, thus safeguarding our critical data and infrastructure. I was also responsible for providing comprehensive user support, ensuring that end-user computing needs, especially those working on Windows workstations, were met with efficiency and professionalism. This role underscored my capability to manage and secure IT environments in a data-intensive environment.
