For the last 10 years, Gemma has worked for a not-for-profit in various roles, each calling on her to develop industry-specific skills. Her current position is in the Youth Homelessness space, where she works full-time alongside a dedicated team that aims to help young people experiencing homelessness, while simultaneously studying her Juris Doctor as an external student. Gemma is working to complete her JD by June 2025 and is on track to do so 'with distinction'. Gemma is a personable and astute individual with excellent time management and collaboration skills, developed from employment and volunteer involvement. Gemma has strong interpersonal skills, confidence and communication abilities. Gemma has an understanding of the importance of working as part of a team, learning from others and developing as a professional. Gemma has great capacity and a willingness to learn, she is highly capable of working in small groups or independently and in more recent positions has been entrusted with supervising other colleagues and students on placement. Gemma is very passionate about working in and creating a safe, encouraging and supportive environment.Gemma is also passionate about social justice specifically First Nations, diversity and inclusivity. She has been working in these spaces in a volunteer capacity when the opportunity arises.
