Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the Plant Planning Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating specific, and ad-hoc, planning activity related to the Plant.The main purpose of this role is to:-Lead on Customer Operations Management and contact-Lead and coordinate Special Event Planning in relation to the Plant including Christmas, Easter, Bank Holidays, Elections, ---Exceptionally Large Postings and others -Support the Plant Manager in any changes to the Plant work plan, Plant layout etc.-Link in with other key leads and functions – i.e. Logistics, Logistics Planning, Distribution, Delivery, National teams etc to ensure all Special Event plans are effective-Identify efficiency improvements-Ensure all seasonal traffic and hour’s clearance plans are robust and achievable-Ensure all plans and activities comply with Safety, Quality and Productivity targets and aims

Support the Sector champion to introduce the 9 technical pillar leads in the effective application of World Class methods and the expansion across the sector. Support the training & education of delivery management teams to see things differently, and appreciate that a substantial amount of our everyday activities are loss or waste by:- - Focused improvements involving cross-functional teams and attacking losses - Implementing systematic steps to eliminate equipment breakdowns and improve performance - Establishing new standards and regularly auditing compliance to sustain the benefit - Demonstrate the leadership commitment necessary to deliver World Class performance particularly:-- Delivering the necessary level of detail for data to ensure the correct methods are applied- Ensuring that the level of expansion is at the required pace - Ensure the standards for World Class Mail are not compromised, and that these standards are sustained for:- - Meetings with frontline operator teams for each of the technical pillars that are expanded across the sector to engage and involve our people in understanding losses and waste - Pillar boards and model area activity boards are communicated across the sector and expansion is owned, maintained demonstrating the enormous potential of the methods, and that these are demonstrated with results, and KPI's. - Assist in co-ordinating both cross sector and cross functional kaizens to build the relationship between different process functions and create a productive network for collaborative learning.

Upon joining Royal Mail on the Graduate Scheme I was invited to attend a Business Induction which gave me a good understanding of the company including the importance of the period of change the company was undertaking. I was also given an introduction to the theories behind World Class Mail along with Royal Mail procedures and policies. I was then given the opportunity to undertake a project as part of the Graduate Team where I carried out research with respect to the changes within Royal Mail, choosing to focus on Delivery Revisions. The aim of the project was to present the findings to a group of senior managers enabling me to demonstrate my research and presentation skills. Over the course of the Graduate Scheme I attended three different Leadership Training Modules. This has enabled me to fully understand the skills and behaviours required to become a successful leader within Royal Mail Group.

Reporting to the Production Control Manager, I managed a team of administration staff, responsible for leading the production of an accurate traffic forecast, to support the efficient resourcing of the Plant. I was accountable for the accuracy and integrity of traffic data recording and measurement. Responsible for the effectiveness of customer forecasting and the integration of forecasts linked to Special Events and other seasonal trends.
