The basics of my role were the input and management of all incoming requests for small business group benefit quotes (2-50 life groups) for both the English and French areas of Canada as part of the small business central quote team. The role required considerable problem solving ability as each quote presented it’s own set of unique issues and requests. The role has been described as “Junior Underwriting”. Essentially we would fully complete all straightforward quotes (e.g. plan designs that didn’t require any exceptions to be reviewed by Underwriting. With more complex quotes we would attempt to follow the plan designs as closely as possible, deviating when the client’s requests didn't match up with Manulife offerings, and then send the quote to Underwriting to evaluate the exception and complete the quote.

I taught the Level One ECE curriculum to a group of Aboriginal day daycare workers within a 9 month contract. This was in a very remote area in Labrador, only accessible via boat (in the summer only) and bush plane. The location was called Natuashish, an Innu community.My main duties were presenting lectures on course material and preparing my students for evaluations including: choosing/finding reading materials, creating projects, and creating evaluations/ mock evaluations. I also provided additional tutoring, and motivational support throughout the course to get the needed results.

Managing all operations of the kiosk as well as performing the sales duties of an advisor. Responsible for hiring and training of sales reps and coaching said reps to achieve company targets. I verified and adjusted shift punches, and made adjustments to the schedule to match up with punches. When needed, I put through product orders making sure we had a well balanced inventory. Additionally I was responsible for coaching my sales reps weekly on their performance and helping them achieve the desired metrics for them personally and for the store.

My personal task was data collection throughout the Acadian Peninsula.
