I manage a broad portfolio of 8 applications and other priority projects, ranging from GIS to security to application usage metrics. In this role, I manage and estimate resources and negotiate with stakeholders for resource assignment. I also run the backlog and product portfolio reviews. I am responsible for providing leadership updates and risk management for my portfolio. I work with the USFS CIO and customers to schedule and manage application deployments; this includes facilitating technical discussions between developers, customers, and the ops team. My main role here is to keep all parts of a large, multi-site government organization working, communicating, and moving forward.

In this role, I managed the schedule and customers for an internal USFS application. This entailed working with and negotiating with other application managers across the USFS to prioritize work. This included requirements gathering, project estimation, and management of delivery for new features. In a typical engagement, other USFS business units would request a feature in our application and I would scope the work, prioritize the tasks, schedule delivery, and ensure that the requester was happy with the results. In addition to project management, I owned this app from the bottom up. This included writing documentation, testing the features, writing SQL queries, and providing context for the generated reports.
