My goal is to inspire positive change and champion every moment of life.BIOGRAPHY:Genia Herndon is higher education leader and strategist. She has held several executive roles within higher education and other industry sectors. Genia currently serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student and Community Engagement at the University of Colorado Denver|Anschutz Medical Campus. In this role she initiates, implements, and oversees innovative approaches and programming that positively influence the student life cycle. The purpose of these efforts is to improve student retention and directly support CU Denver’s commitment to creating an unparalleled student experience. The position brings together groups within the division of Student Success that work with students from early engagement through graduation, including groups that engage student participation both within the university and with business and industry and the community.Genia has held other executive roles within Student Affairs. Most recently, she served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Access and Enrollment. In this role, she was the principal steward of CU Denver’s undergraduate strategic enrollment management initiatives. Herndon was responsible for the implementation and management of a developing comprehensive institutional enrollment strategy that will ensure undergraduate university admissions, recruitment; K-12 outreach, pre-collegiate program development, student-focused partnerships, scholarship services, programming, and financial aid efforts are collaborative and complement each other. Throughout her tenure, she has worked closely with University leadership, external community and industry partners as well as the leadership within the 13 schools and colleges located on the Denver and Anschutz Medical Campuses on University wide programs. She has consistently played a critical role in connecting the University with external partnerships and programs, and in doing so advanced the strategic initiatives, mission and interests of this campus community and the University.
