MEF helps inner-city kids to succeed in school and in life, through after-school enrichment programs that integrate academics with virtues. Programs operate at two educational centers in Chicago that the Foundation supports: the Midtown Center for boys and Metro Achievement Center for girls.The programs are volunteer-driven with 17 volunteers for every one MEF staff member. And the programs are overwhelmingly successful: MEF students enter college at nearly five times the rate of their inner-city peers around the country, and for the 13th consecutive year (as of 2013), 100% of MEF’s high school seniors have graduated from high school and entered college.
