My primary training is in the physical sciences; more specifically measurement and data-analysis. Most of my career has been in bio-medical research and engineering, split between academia and industry. I have worked with electronic, mechanical, software, and systems engineering.I also have a strong, long-term association with computer software development. I have six years of experience in pure commercial software development and development methodology mentoring (specifically the area of "Agile Methods").I have a long interest in the visual aspects of journalism (ex. photojournalism and documentary film-making). I am currently a free-lance photographer specializing in aviation and sailing work. For a number of years I was a photojournalist with Midwest Flyer Magazine.My wife and I have both created small companies around our respective passions.
