I am an experienced mining professional with strong leadership and relation building skills. I am a Mine Overseer with 10 years experience. Before this I was a Shift overseer with 20 years experience. Areas of expertise include Safety Management, Safety audits, Production planning, People Management and timekeeping, Computer literate, Accident and Incident investigations, Budgeting and cost control. In January 2013 I was selected to opened a new shaft from a High wall that was previously an open cast coal mine. Due to cost implications for the opencast mine a decision was made to underground from the high wall. Opened new mine, responsible for all planning and building of infrastructure (Belts, pump lines, pump stations, main fan installations, air crossings and stopping’s, section conveyors and belt drives as well as all water reticulation in and out of the workings)In charge of 2 production sections ( 9 road board and pillar), producing 60 000 tons per month, 720 000 tons per annum per section. Each section using 1 x Joy HM31 AA continuous miner, 3x 16SC12 Joy scuttle cars, 1 x Fletcher roof bolters, 1 x Phillips battery operated scoop, 1x buffalo feeder breaker, 1x Eimco LHD. 1 x Out bye crew doing all drilling, blasting ,loading and supporting of Dykes and faults ( average fault displacement of 3m ) and construction work of new conveyor drives and belt extensions.Responsible for the safety of the people, production/all support work/ventilation, section belts, main conveyor belts, stone dusting operations (rock dusting ), in bye and out bye sections. Insuring that all legal and mine standards are followed.Installation, extension and maintenance of conveyor belts.Budged and cost control.Filling in of all legal reports and responsibility pertaining to legal appointment.40 Persons reporting directly to me, per shift.Since May 2016 I ave become a safety practitioner at Sasol. In June 2016 I was appointed as Safety Manager Services division of Klinger.
