Responsible for all HR functions in the English department encompassing 5 programs and over 200 employees including hiring and termination processes for faculty, lecturers, academic professionals, graduate assistants, student workers, and civil service employees. Supervise three full-time staff and four student workers. Work closely with Department Head and Associate Head to complete department’s annual Soft Money request.Responsible for the operations of the department including assigning office space, distribution of teacher evaluations, and continually assess operations of the department and make changes to streamline processes.

Assisted in managing a $1.3 million budget. Maintained accounting book with all receipts and transactions and reconciled monthly. Assist in forecasting year-end expenditures to ensure proper allocation of resources. Use current expenditure reports to forecast for following fiscal years.Create purchase orders, contracts with outside vendors, and complete appropriate vouchers for payment for goods and services. Create Requests for Proposals (RFP) when required.Assist in creating and documenting new interoffice procedures, while implementing new and existing UIC procedures into the LGSB. Assess operational processes to ensure functionality. Update and change existing policies to improve efficiency.
