This results in both a better experience for our customers and also better risk / loss management for Afterpay.Shopify migration – A significant global change made by Shopify to their payments platform, resulted in all payment providers, including Afterpay, having to develop significant integration changes, and also require our merchants to follow explicit steps to implement those changes on their individual Shopify eCommerce site.I have also managed a pure Commercial project, that did not include Product changes, although confidentiality reasons prevent me from providing details. ESRC provides funding to UK academia for research grants. Grants are applied for via the Joint electronic Submissions website. My role had two aspects:1. I worked in a small team of developers, liaising with end users to define business requirements for a front office system for real estate agents.I created functional specifications and developed the code, in Visual Basic and SQL Server.

My primary responsibility was providing training for a team of inexperienced Visual Basic developers. To provide guidance and to ensure continuity of standards, I developed coding standards, project lifecycle documentation and a Visual Basic course consisting of documentation, example code and test applications. My secondary role entailed providing development support to existing systems.

I worked on a project to replace a legacy database of public service providers. I was responsible for the requirements analysis for the replacement system, documenting the functional specification and User Interface and then writing the required code in Visual Basic 6, linking to an Informix database via in-house dlls.A contract extension was offered, but working holiday visa restrictions meant that it could not be accepted.

Team member, coding and testing enhancements to a pricing system used to generate quotes for customers of Nuclear Electric Ltd. This was a Visual Basic 4 front end interfacing with an Access database and Excel files producing reports through Word on NT4 / 3.51 platforms.I also led a small team on an Access project for Thames Water. The database maintained data used in submissions to the Water Services Regulation Authority (OFWAT) for long-term expenditure plans.

Laserform was the market leader for electronic forms packages in the UK legal market.I was responsible for all aspects of the development lifecycle of our case management package; from the initial analysis (liaising with external clients) and specification through to programming and testing. The Visual Basic and Access database system integrated with Word (using OLE) and WordPerfect (using DDE).
