I started my own firm and within 6 years my company was ranked in the top 20 firms for gross volume sales by the Charlotte Business Journal. I had a small team of 8 agents and together we averaged between $65 to 90 million a year in gross sales. I created a marketing plan geared towards building a referral base that did not rely on purchased leads. Instead, the focus was on providing consistently great service to our clients with exceptional results. I later rolled my company into RE/MAX Executive in order to stay competitive in an ever evolving industry.

While living in Tallahassee for a short period of time, I worked as appellate attorney for the State of Florida. I learned a lot in this position including that most of my clients were not bad people but were bad decision makers. The attorneys I worked with who dedicated their lives to helping others were amazing and brilliant people who were true assets to humanity. Last, I learned that although I could write well, I could not talk and write at the same time. I left the field of law to pursue a career in sales because of this.

Worked for a home builder coming out of law school (much to my parents horror). Learned lots of valuable things like how to negotiate contracts in a predominately male oriented field and how to work as an effective team to bring a community to market. I worked a lot with contracts and budgets but also some in sales. Was a great starting ground for my career in real estate.
