Employed as a Network and Security Engineer for ITC. The role is varied and involves supporting client's Cisco LAN, WAN and DC Networks, as well as multiple vendor environments. Vendors include Palo Alto, Cisco FTD and ASA and F5 Big IP.I am also required to have some understanding of Cloud technologies, Azure and AWS.ITC are an extremely forward thinking, friendly company and I cannot recommend them enough as an employer.

Recently have been involved in the migration of users from the old to the new Cisco MPLS Network. Integrated within this network is an ARUBA Wireless network and a Cisco Voice network.I also have experience troubleshooting on Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls as well as F5 load balancers. In terms of the monitoring side, using EMC SMARTS and Alterpoint for the configuration of the network.

This currently involves working on a shift basis, to cover 24x7. - Monitoring of Leased Lines, MPLS and DSL networks via Smarts for service degradation. First time fixes required, or escalation to engineers and third party vendors within required SLA.- I log between 10-20 calls per day on Remedy, resolving 75% of problems or escalating to second and third line where necessary.- ISDN testing and ensuring that clients have constant connectivity via their backup solutions. This requires basic changes to configs running on a range of Cisco routers.- Diagnostics and basic troubleshooting on predominantly Cisco and some Juniper devices. - Liaise with Carriers and engineers to resolve outages on customer networks within SLA framework.- Working towards CCNA qualification.
