Really love God and really love people. I am passionate about living life in the wonder, mystery, beauty, and power of relationship with Jesus, by means of the Holy Spirit, and the Kingdom which he inaugurated. I am amazed at the revolutionary way the Spirit of God builds genuine relationship and community by moving through us and touching our neighbors when we are intentional about loving and blessing them. The most foundational means (but not the only means!) through which I experience life with Jesus is through his written word, the Bible, which is deeply transformative. My imagination has been captured thoroughly by its life-giving narrative. I am amazed by the humble way it changes individuals and communities ... how it gives life to the poor, the broken, and the weak. Because the foundational themes of the Kingdom of God are found in the First Testament, I have devoted my life to identifying and understanding their development, how I can experience them, and how I can draw neighbors, family, and friends into this liberating narrative. I experience the love and power of God's Kingdom most profoundly on the street, in church community, but also in the classroom. My heart's desire is to impart this life-giving relationship with Jesus to a new generation of leaders by means of serious prayer, reflection on the Kingdom story of the Bible, living out what I read on the street, and impartation to the wonderful people I mentor!
