Profile bio

About Glorya Escobar, Eit

I am a UC San Diego environmental engineer graduate and a current environmental engineering master's student at San Diego State University. My research focuses on the feasibility of using portable fluorescence devices to capture real-time data of microbial pollution in stormwater systems. My professional interests extend over a variety of environmental sectors including green infrastructure, wastewater treatment and resource recovery, PFAS and other pollutants. I have prior experience working in consulting in groundwater and soil remediation projects. Presently, I work for a non-profit organization that runs a climate science program called EarthLab for elementary, middle school, and high school students. I enjoy exploring how STEAM education for young people can lead to sustainable environmental change in communities. In the future, I hope to supplement my engineering career with community outreach, such as guest lecturing or possibly becoming a board member for local youth programs like EarthLab.

Listed skills include Organizational Leadership, Cross Cultural Communication Skills, Critical Thinking, Event Planning, and 13 others.
