With the best team in the country, we proactively developed the largest FirstNet Public Safety LTE planning effort, the Texas Public Safety Broadband Program. Also known as State and Local Implementation Grant Program, or SLIGP, our team ensures on schedule and budget performance as we prepare the State for statewide broadband. Getting there requires establishing various win-win agreements between the State, FirstNet and other organizations.Additional efforts included leading the NPSTC Applications group to define what a Public Safety Grade application looks like. It was great to work with a a broad spectrum team made up of industry and public safety professionals.

Immediately after September 11, our business focus changed to identify specific solutions for Homeland Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection challenges supporting state, local and federal Public Safety needs.One of the most rewarding efforts was working as a Senior Systems Architect to the Vice Admiral in Command of the USCG Pacific Area, understand his communications and IT challenges then assisting his staff in updating their plans and capabilities, a very rewarding effort. In addition, we developed a novel way to very rapidly restore all wireless communications infrastructure in a disaster location in a few hours.

I was privileged to work with some incredible people where we developed: User friendly solutions to complex telecommunications problems for Public Safety, secure telecommunications, interoperable solutions for incompatible networks and systems, disaster and emergency communications with rapid restoration and quick deploy capabilities. I enjoyed managing various efforts while working directly with state, local, federal and international customers to identify their communications challenges and provide solutions. Designed and fielded software, hardware and adjunct systems to support secure communications for US and international government customers, from encryption devices to a highly secure, one-of-a-kind secure communications capability for heads-of-state. Co-Created Digital Steganography, (also know as Modern Steganography) to support mission critical operations in very difficult and denied communications environments. Testing determined the system was undetectable when used. It was rapidly deployed around the world and used to provide ground truth in some high profile, very tense events.
