Mechanical Engineering placement, primarily focussed on Reliability Engineering.Key Projects:- Wrote the basic maintenance of a new packaging line: Used manufacturer's recommended maintenance to create standard work instructions to be completed by technicians.- Worked on developing the department's obsolescence strategy: Sent parts lists of various machines to an external obsolescence management company to assess the obsolescence status of several components.- Implemented a system to measure OEE on a new packaging line: Included purchasing components required, gathering the information on downtimes and organising the installation work with an external contractor.- Assisted in creating simple PowerBI and Excel schematics of manufacturing lines to aid training and for general usage.- Management of spare parts for critical manufacturing lines: Filled in local stores stock templates with details of spare parts (worth ~£1 million) such as part number, quantity etc & assisted with physically locating spares from various shipments. Sent weekly progress update to key stakeholders- Installation of localised spare parts solution: Project managed the installation of 5 spare parts carousels (capacity ~2000 spares). Managed logistics of delivery, install, training and initial loading of spares. Carousels will save ~640hrs in walk and wait times per year.
