The experience the roles have brought and the long lasting friendships that have been forged, have been of the highest value.CIMA is a professional body that at the time was servicing 180,000 members and students worldwide, with a global turnover of c£45m, employing c400 staff. Specific roles were leading CIMA as a member of its de facto Board of Directors, responsible for the governance, strategy & policy setting, determining its vision, mission, values and space and holding senior office as one of its 4 Honorary Officers from 2005-2009 and serving on the Audit & Risk Committee from 2012 onwards. Was a member of CIMA Council from 1996 to 2009, including being Chairman of four of its seven main policy committees at various times from 1998 to 2004, presiding over syllabus reviews in 2000 and 2004 as well as representing the Edinburgh Branch as President (1993-1995), and the Scotland Area as Chairman (1998-2000). Has been a practical experience assessor for CIMA since 1994, participating in over 10,000 candidate assessments world-wide, of which over 4,000 performed at face-to-face interviews.
