I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to work with one of the best design teacher's I've ever had as her assistant in a Design Fundamentals course. It was a challenging role because I had to get comfortable being in front of a class rather than in it. As part of this job, I offered feedback and mentorship to students which lead to increased student participation and content mastery. I returned to the retail side of the food industry to pursue my passion for third wave coffee while going back to school to study design. In my time as Lead Barista, I reinforced my customer service skills, managed and trained other employees, built up my latte art repertoire, and drank unfathomable amounts of coffee. My attention to detail and previous food experience resulted in great customer interactions, positive yelp reviews, and development of customer base.

This was a challenging but rewarding role that had me talking with people all over the Bay Area about food. In this industry role, I managed and maintained 40+ accounts, visiting them frequently and maintaining good relationships with my clients. As well as making sure the brand was well represented within each account, through beautiful displays and demos. I also built out my network and brought on new accounts, resulting in higher sales within my territory. My time at Whole Foods gave me further introduction to the food industry. I became an experienced buyer, understanding the shopping trends of our customers and predicting sales. In addition, I trained all new hires to our department and lead monthly safety meetings, resulting in fewer workplace accidents. My favorite task was building eye-catching displays for our products. My speed and attention to detail resulted in beautiful, neat, and organized shelf displays.

Greater Seattle Area

My first job! This role taught me countless new things and helped me build the foundation of my job skills. This was the job that taught me to work but more importantly, showed me that I can (something I didn't know about myself at the time). Nine months in I was promoted to Lead Barista which added a management component to my day-to-day coffee work. I was also entrusted with running our drive-thru which required someone skilled enough to work alone, taking and filling orders at multiple windows and working quickly to keep customers satisfied. I am endlessly grateful for the backbone this first job gave me and the confidence it instilled in me. It was here I learned:- Customer Service - Multitasking- Interpersonal Communication - Teamwork- Management- Ingenuity- A passion for coffee and food
