Independently ran antigen production for Abcam’s monoclonal antibody development pipeline. Responsible for developing innovative approaches to immunogen production, including evaluating novel coupling methods and in silico analyses to improve immunogenicity and immunogen solubility.Devised and wrote a methods to automatically identify surface exposed residues from X-ray crystallography structures.

Post-doctoral researcher specialising in the multicellular parasite Schistosoma mansoni (liver fluke), one of the causative agents of a debilitating disease known as Schistosomiasis. Schistosomiasis is the second biggest parasitic cause of mortality in the developing world, it is estimated to be responsible for >250,000 deaths per annum. As one of the lead contributors to the sequencing and annotation of this medically important parasite, I worked with a team maintaining the genome database. I performed early consolidation work and identified splice forms of gene models. I was responsible for the automated annotation of gene ontology terms and collaborated on the development of genome analysis and annotation tools.

Post-doctoral researcher specialising in the parasite S. mansoni, I was one of the principal contributors to the genomic analysis of S. mansoni and one of the lead authors of a Nature paper describing the organism’s genome. Worked to further characterise keep proteins, by cloning and expression using bacterial and yeast systems.
