Part of a team responsible for presenting 'Winged Encounters' at Disney's Animal Kingdom; a show that features flocks of 25+ macaws that free fly through the park and land in a designated location in order for us to educate guests about them. Working as a member of a communication-focused team and performing 'Day Leader' duties; liaising with Disney leadership, assigning staff duties, mentoring others, and using the science of behavior to train birds and make welfare and behavioral decisions.

Caring for various classes of animals by performing husbandry duties, assisting in training sessions, and keeping records in accordance with AZA and USDA guidelines.Providing exceptional guest service and participating in educating guests about animal natural history and conservation information.

Driving 30ft safari vehicle over rough, paved roads with up to 40 guests inside.Locating and identifying various African wildlife for guests while explaining life history traits and conservation information for those species.

Triage and managing patient treatments including administering IV, SQ, oral, eye and ear medicationsHandling and care of various wildlife (feeding, medical treatments, etc.)Taking X-rays and assisting with UltrasoundRunning blood work on in-house machines
