This position was a combination of delivering on the mission of the brand (1 pound of trash cleaned up for every item sold) through hosting trash cleanups and educating customers in the Flagship store on the mission and details of the brand's status as a B Corp.

As a lead instructor for Outward Bound, my primary responsibility was to instruct 5-14 day outdoor expeditions for youth ages 12-18. Course types included backpacking and rock climbing, sea kayaking, and canoeing. The instructor role is to facilitate an experience in which participants push their boundaries and discover new capabilities within themselves while maintaining safety and a sense of fun. Lead instructors are also responsible for training incoming assistant instructors.

Immediately after graduation, I spent 2 years working for the Maryland Park Service through AmeriCorps doing conservation work as well as environmental education and park improvement projects. I served at Rocks and Susquehanna State Parks and previously, Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary.

Summer Internship helping to coordinate events for West Michigan Environmental Action Council. These events included the "We Are Here" fundraising campaign and the Urban Bicycle Extravaganza.
