Duties:• Provide accurate and clear setting out for works before work is programmed to commence, allowing time for independent checking where required.• Complete topographical and stockpile surveys.• Analyse surveys on Terramodel for volume calculations and earthworks progress reports.• Create and complete inspection and test plans as required by the PMP/Specification, including checks of dimension accuracy and quality. • Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works. • Supervise chainman and trainee engineers.• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of 4 weekly programmes in conjunction with the section engineer. • Maintain material reconciliation figures for reporting in the weekly site review meeting.

Crossaig Substation

Duties:• Setting out for all aspects of construction including Equipment foundations, Asphalt access roads, Drainage and Ducting• Ensure that sufficient and full information is available on drawings and sketches to set out the works in accordance with the programme and sequence of operations, raising RFI’s when required.• Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided.• Complete testing of all ducting, drainage and concrete placed on site.• Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that the works have been constructed to the setting-out information provided. Raising NCR’s where applicable.• Carry out duties of environmental and equipment engineer.• Ensure that comprehensive records of all resources employed on additional works are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:Conducting Desk Based Surveys.Visiting sites and establishing their suitability for one or more turbines.Selecting the best location for development, taking into account wind flows, planning considerations, installation logistics and electrical connections.Identifying and reporting on potential issues or risks to the project.Using Wind farm software to analyse wind flows and produce energy yield estimates, ZTV maps and photomontages.Writing Technical Reports.Conducting peer reviews of site surveys conducted by others.Assisting project engineers.
