It helps to shape Council's policy agenda through innovation, best practice and continuous improvement by advancing the preparation of the Maroondah Health and Wellbeing Plan, overseeing Council's environmental sustainability activities and stewarding the Maroondah Planning Scheme and related strategic planning land use projects. The Department champions strong community engagement and leads a range of community development activities (e.g. disability advocacy, supporting CALD communities, community safety, community houses, community grants). The Department also has oversight of the planning for the Croydon Community Wellbeing Precinct.
