Hello, my name is Grant Phillips. I strive to do my very best in whatever situation I am put in. I have learned much throughout my academic and working career. I also excel at math and problem solving. Overall I would say that I have a wide range of talents, and I can adapt to most situations. I am always open to learning more and gaining new hands-on experience. I will not settle for a poorly executed job. This integrity that I possess has brought me great success in my education and work.During COVID-19, I had ample time to think about what I truly wanted to do with my life. Through much personal reflection on my desires and strengths, I found that I have a real passion for working with numbers and technology. To be specific, I really enjoy the concepts of Analytics and IT. While pursuing my degree, I had the opportunity to take multiple Accounting and Finance courses, and an IT course. I greatly succeeded in those classes, and actually had a lot of fun doing it. I decided that I would be content with a career in Analytics, and have a desire to pursue getting any relevant certifications.My time working for At Home Group as a Pricing Analyst has provided me with many hands-on skills in data management, analysis, and development. I assisted in pioneering this team from the ground up, helping to introduce dedicated pricing analysis to the company. This position requires a high attention to detail when compiling and analyzing data to present it in a comprehensible and actionable format. This job allows me to think on my feet, and be ready to adapt to current company requirements. I work closely with the Director and VP of Analytics, as well as project management with other members of the analytics team. This position also allowed me to become effective in a remote/hybrid working environment and continue to meet all deliverables in a timely manner.My time as an Marketing Intern allowed me to experience the true value of being on a team where everyone is an important part of something larger. I received great Marketing experience in this role, but also received training and hands-on experience in Creative Services and Operations.I am very eager to learn more about the Analytics and IT fields throughout my career.
