Design and delivery of Electron Microscopy STEM education outreach classes for 7'th - 12'th graders. Some people say a picture is worth a thousand words. Our pictures are worth at least 10,000 words.Bring 7'th - 12'th graders to a university research center. Guide them through the process of preparing and magnifying their specimen 100,000x in an electron microscope, select the best imaging detector to take a picture of their sample and use a spectrometer to figure out what it is made of. Students learn to collaborate, classify size, shape, composition of their samples and present results.Add some informal career counseling by talking about STEM careers and salary's. Requires "nerves of steel" to teach 13 - 18 year old students operation of a half million dollar research instrument knowing that a mistake can easily result in weeks of down time to repair the instrument. The reward of inspiring youth to pursue STEM career paths - priceless

Manufacturing process engineer for the Inner Layer Graphics, Automated Optical Inspection and Impedance Test Failure Analysis. I was responsible for lean manufacturing, quality improvement and developing new processes. Failure analysis, statistical process control, tooling, work instructions, clean room certification to FED STD 209E and ISO-14644, etc. We were certified to ISO 9000, AS 9100, TL 9000 and several Military specifications.

The result was reduced staffing while dramatically increasing output and yield. During this time, technology became more challenging to manufacture.

I worked in the CNC drill room as swing shift lead operator. I was responsible for scheduling twenty multispindle CNC drill machines to meet product mix and departmental quality goals. My crew had the shortest tenure, highest certification level and best quality in our department.
