    I was responsible for managing 20-30 Merchant Managers. The Merchant Manager (now called Account Managers) were responsible for all pre and post feature communications with the merchants who run a daily deal on the Groupon website. During my employment at Groupon I started the process of developing performance metrics for the Merchant Managers/Merchant Services department. I developed the first drafts of those metrics which were implemented just before my employment ended. I was responsible for creating salesforce.com reports to track the performance of my employees and also utilized SF.com to distribute clients, by region, to my subordinates. I conducted bi-weekly regional meetings with my territories (which included: New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Detroit, and a few smaller markets) as well as 1:1 touch base with all of my employees at least twice a month. During these 1:1 touch bases I spent a lot of time developing a career path for my team members, listening and solving pain points they were experiencing, and giving them helpful advice and guidance on how to handle situations they were experiencing. One of the pain points experienced by my employees was lack of compensation/overtime for a non-management position. I was instrumental in working with Human Resources to get this issue resolved. Within a couple of months the employees were correctly categorized as non-management and given overtime.I pride myself in the accomplishments that were achieved while I was at Groupon, and look forward to brining my people management skills to another company soon.
