Greg King was born in Badgers Quay, Newfoundland and Labrador in 1978 and since the age of 14 he has been continuously entertaining audiences all over North America. Originally he was only a professional musician, but at 18 years of age he began branching out has an actor working with such well known Newfoundland theatre company’s as Rising Tide, RCAT, and TNL. He is most well known for his longtime work out of Newtown, NL where for 8 years he preformed annually as an originally member of the hilarious comedy troupe “The Gills’”. This experience gave him a taste for comedy which allowed him to make an easy transition into standup and since 2009 he has become a regular on the St. John’s comedy scene.In the spring of 2011 he was named the artistic director of the Neptune 2 Theatre festival located on the Barbour Living Heritage Village in Newtown, NL. Within that season he wrote, directed, publicized and performed in all the shows produced that summer. These days he has been doing much more television and film work and is certain to be appearing in homes much more regularly in the near future. Recently he was the host of the show “Comedy in the City”, a half hour program which focusses on the St. John’s comedy scene and the performers involved in it.In the past Greg King has been described by critics as “especially lovely" and "entirely charming” with a “gorgeous singing voice”.
