Duties: At Ford Credit my duties included supporting two large remote processing applications, installing several large releases of the interface software, plus many production support software updates and break fixes. I was heavily involved in the conversion of both interface system’s conversion from FTP to the Connect:Direct file transfer product. Converted a manual data entry system to an automatically-fed transaction based on a input files from credit bureaus by writing several COBOL programs to generate the transactions.Also provided 24 hour batch job & client support and was named the subject matter expert for the Bankruptcy interface system, and provided the support to the team in this role. My latest assignment was all application sysadmin and application production and adhoc coding activities on the application side of the Bankruptcy Business application.

Duties: At Global Crossing, my duties primarily involved the main commissions batch jobs, installing new and/or changed commissions plans into COBOL programs in extremely large batch jobs. I also created DB2 tables for new functionality, while working closely with end-user client. This facility and application was fairly unique and complicated because they integrated business rules into all levels of the system, including application batch programs, online programs, and system utilities, such as Syncsort.

Duties: I started at Ameritech as the primary system analyst for the interface subsystem of the large publishing application. This included all development and user- and production support for a subsystem that communicated data from an IBM mainframe to a DEC VAX. I converted this subsystem to use FTP to send and receive data from the VAX. Along the way, I also picked up the White Pages billing subsystem, the business pagination system, and the normal billing system. All these applications were eventually converted to use batch FTP to send data to other entities, both inside and outside of Ameritech. I was also the first application at AAS to utilize batch FTP, and became the in-house consultant for FTP conversions. I was the primary application contact for the system software upgrades for the Y2K project. I Participated in many large application changes and upgrades where extensive system testing and coordination with other groups was required.
