I am the Director of multiple agricultural non-point source pollution control projects in watersheds in the Midwest As the Field Projects Director, I am responsible for the design, implementation and operation of resource inventory, farmer relations, monitoring and best management practices protocols in multiple watersheds. In cooperation with USGS and other entities, I manage and maintain a detailed agricultural runoff and in-stream water quality monitoring infrastructure projects. I am the field operations manager for an innovative Pay for Performance approach to reduce the loss of phosphorus from agricultural fields. This approach is being tested under a grant for the Great Lakes Protection Fund. I am responsible for developing proposals and budgets for funding opportunities to work on non-point source pollution control efforts. Through these efforts I have become involved in discussions with local, state and federal agencies and NGOs about new and innovative ways to identify, address, and reduce the impact of non-point source pollution on our water resources.

I was in charge of the administration of the Farm Bill Wetland Reserve Program under a cooperative agreement between Ducks Unlimited and USDA-NRCS in 5 counties in Western MN. Responsible for handling the application process, easement development, restoration design, design implementation and easement management. I worked closely with local state and federal agencies and NGOs on wetland, drainage and flood mitigation issues in MN. I also performed outreach and education on Farm Bill programs, NRCS and DU initiatives, and natural resources management.

I administered and facilitated an in-lieu fee wetland and stream mitigation program covering the entire Commonwealth of VA. Responsible for the identification, project design, design implementation, management and monitoring of all wetland and stream mitigation sites. I worked closely with state and federal agencies on wetland and stream mitigation issues in VA. I also, performed outreach and education programs about wetland and stream values and restoration.

I administered the Farm Bill Wetland Reserve Program under a cooperative agreement between WI DNR and USDA-NRCS in 9 counties in Southeast WI. Responsible for handling the application process, easement development, restoration design, design implementation and easement management. I worked closely with local state and federal agencies and NGOs on wetland and drainage issues. Responsible for outreach and education efforts on Farm Bill programs, NRCS and WI DNR initiatives and natural resources management. I served as the NRCS Endangered Resources Specialist for the 9 counties that I covered. I worked closely with NRCS and FSA on issues related to the transition of active farmland to WRP easement.

I was in charge of sample and data collection crews for the identification, set up and sampling of sites for a Carbon Sequestration and Ecological Values study of the Prairie Pothole region in IA, MN, SD, ND and MT. Designed specialized equipment for sampling, trained field crews and oversaw sample and data collection of crews. During the winter, processed and analyzed data and designed, built and ran a soil bulk density lab to process study samples.
