Head of Delivery Delivery Assurance of Telstra Products to Customer PortfolioHead of Delivery (Cloud Services) Assurance for Cloud consumed by Telstra’s top 80 CustomersImprovement Manager Service Improvement across Cloud ProductsThe Head of Delivery (Cloud Services) role was created with the requirement to dramatically improve the delivery of Cloud Services to Telstra's "big end of town" customers; and to facilitate their migration off their Dedicated Hosting Cloud Platforms onto the new Multi-Cloud technology. A team was formed comprising the Head of Delivery, (and over the course of the journey) Cloud Technical Service Managers, Service Delivery Managers, Programme Managers, Project Managers, Process Consultants and IT Graduates. After a period of analysis, the Cloud Services Team set about capturing the outages that were impacting their customers, determining the root causes of those failures, and implementing Service Improvement Programmes to rectify the problems in the environment. Some 5000 individual Service Improvement items and/or opportunities were identified; and worked through to satisfactory conclusion. As at June 30, 2018; this mission was completed. Congratulations and thanks to all involved. What a great result!!

In 2009 the Australian Taxation Office set about the creation of their Enterprise Service Management Centre, and went to market to engage an IT Outsourcer to assist with setup and run the function from 2010. I was involved in the bidding process, and via various presentations and submissions to the ATO, contributed a number of ideas that were eventually incorporated in the ATO’s documented requirements. When Lockheed Martin was awarded the contract, my understanding of the requirement, and my passion was a key influence in my accepting the role to bring it to realisation. This was very much a Transition Project from my perspective, and once the set-up had been completed I looked for an opportunity to pursue other challenges.

Unisys recruited me to bring about changes to improve the delivery of services to a Western Australian Government Department. It soon became apparent that changes were required on both sides of the engagement, and the customer embarked on a program to implement an ITIL governance model. I moved to the Business Excellence Group within Unisys to lead this program. It was in the Business Excellence role that I consulted to other accounts in WA before relocating to Canberra to assist with set-up and subsequent ongoing delivery of the IT Support contract for Immigration Department. During my time in Canberra I provided sales support for IT contracts with Department of Defence, Australian National Audit Office and the Australian Taxation Office.

Systems integration. ITIL training. Project management. Liquidation management.I count my time running my own consulting business as a bit of a “gap period”. I was initially looking for a bit of a break, but with a number of business opportunities presenting themselves; I kept myself (more than) fully occupied for 2 years with: - training various organisations in ITIL; - negotiating assets sale and paying debts for insolvent retirement village property developer; and - consulting to a number of small businesses for efficiency and business systems improvements. This was a really exciting period of my career; but totally unsustainable, so I set about finding a job where I could focus on my core strengths.

IT outsourcing for government and commercial clients. I performed a number of roles with Advantra, including: - Regional Manager; responsible for team of 85 delivering services to all Western Region customers; - National Service Manager; as 1-up manager to all Regional Managers (600 staff); and - Product Manager; responsible for the replicable service offerings that Advantra took to market. Advantra was brought into the “Telstra corporate fold” in 2004, and my role was no longer required.
