After a period of analysis, the Cloud Services Team set about capturing the outages that were impacting their customers, determining the root causes of those failures, and implementing Service Improvement Programmes to rectify the problems in the environment. Some 5000 individual Service Improvement items and/or opportunities were identified; and worked through to satisfactory conclusion. As at June 30, 2018; this mission was completed. I was involved in the bidding process, and via various presentations and submissions to the ATO, contributed a number of ideas that were eventually incorporated in the ATO’s documented requirements. When Lockheed Martin was awarded the contract, my understanding of the requirement, and my passion was a key influence in my accepting the role to bring it to realisation. This was very much a Transition Project from my perspective, and once the set-up had been completed I looked for an opportunity to pursue other challenges.

It soon became apparent that changes were required on both sides of the engagement, and the customer embarked on a program to implement an ITIL governance model. I moved to the Business Excellence Group within Unisys to lead this program. It was in the Business Excellence role that I consulted to other accounts in WA before relocating to Canberra to assist with set-up and subsequent ongoing delivery of the IT Support contract for Immigration Department. During my time in Canberra I provided sales support for IT contracts with Department of Defence, Australian National Audit Office and the Australian Taxation Office. -
