Flypaper is an easy rich media authoring tool that enables non-technical marketing, training and business professionals to create interactive content without the costs of custom Flash development. Flypaper grew steadily from startup in 2006 and was acquired by Trivantis in 2011.

PatchLink was a leader in patch management security software. PatchLink was renamed to Lumension Security in 2008 and now offers a complete endpoint management and security suite.

In 2000, SalesLogix purchased ACT! from Symantec for $65 million. As General Manager, I was responsible for all functions of the ACT! business. We grew the ACT! business, team, partner channel, product line and international presence. In 2001, the SalesLogix company (with ACT!) was acquired by Sage plc, a UK-based global leader in small business accounting software. Yes, I worked on ACT! and SalesLogix (then ACT! again) for 15 years straight through in all those different companies.

Led our initial international expansion with SalesLogix teams in Europe and Australia. By 1999 we had customers and partners in 55 countries.

I left Symantec to help start SalesLogix in Scottsdale Arizona with Pat Sullivan (the creator of ACT!) and the core founding team. I led the launch of the company, our products and helped create our global CRM VAR channel. SalesLogix grew from startup to a global SFA/CRM company and had a successful IPO in 1999.

Contact Software grew to almost 1 million users and 130 employees when it was acquired by Symantec in 1993. I moved to San Jose area to lead the ACT! product strategy as product manager. ACT! became one of the top 3 global software products at Symantec with more than 2.5 million users.

I started with the small team that created ACT! in 1989 when there were only 15 employees, first as a regional sales evangelist and then became product manager one year later. I led the product marketing and management for ACT! for DOS, ACT! for Mac and several other versions. ACT! is still the number one contact manager 25 years later.

Egghead was the first national software retailer in the beginning of the packaged software business. It was one of the fastest growing companies in the US and sold over half of all software sales in the US in the late '80's and early '90's. I fell in love with selling, software, hyper-growth businesses and leadership at Egghead.In case you didn't catch it, I was, in fact, "Greg Head from Egghead." I had a lot of fun with that when people saw the name tag on my suit jacket.
