I am an intellectual property litigator that guides technology companies—large and small—through IP issues. My practice focuses primarily on patent issues, but also involves trade secrets and licensing. Due to my years of experience as an engineer, I am uniquely positioned to identify, understand and advise companies on IP issues related to complex technology. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, I worked for ten years in software development and integration, and earned a master’s degree in computer science along the way. Attending law school at night and graduating magna cum laude while working as an engineer during the day sharpened my ability to work efficiently and effectively. This work ethic carried over to my law practice, where I am dedicated to, and always available for, each of my clients.I have represented clients in district court, in post-grant proceedings at the PTAB, and on appeal at the Federal Circuit. My practice involves a wide range of technologies, including software, cloud computing, medical devices, semiconductors, digital imaging, cellular communications and network security.Based on my depth of experience on various legal issues, for example the complexities of venue in patent cases and the unique legal issues associated with software patents, I have written numerous articles for national publications and am frequently sought for interviews on these issues. I also recently had the honor of serving as faculty for PLI’s annual Patent Litigation program.
