Gregory Cox has over 20 years of fatherhood/family engagement experience. He served as the Fatherhood Coalition Coordinator, for Brightpoint Advancing Fathers Program. He is certified as a PAIP Co-Facilitator, He is a certified parent instructor and a seasoned public speaker, who shares his lived experience he promotes positive Fatherhood /Parent Engagement. He is currently a trainer for the 24/7 Dads NFI workshop. Training organizations, community partners, the importance of engaging with fathers/parents He has co-authored two books, “The Parents’ Get Real Guide to Getting Your Kids Back,” and “The Parents’ Get Real Guide to Keeping Your Kids at Home.” He also wrote "Promising the Moon," a memoir about his life, which was a chosen book for a course on child welfare services at Illinois State University's School of Social Work, as well as several essays on the duties and rights of fathers rights in the child welfare system. Gregory previously served as The Cook County Statewide Parent Adversary Council's co-chairman (SPAC). The Partnering with Parents Initiative of DCFS gave birth to this Council. Gregory's conception of the yearly Institute Day, which provides birth parents with knowledge on navigating the child welfare system, is one of his biggest accomplishments. The Parenting with Parents Initiative of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has incorporated this event into its programs.
