• Working with multiple City departments and non-profits to create a vacant adjacent lot program. • Provide bi-weekly updates to the Director and Group Executive on the status of federal grants. We shared this tracking spreadsheet with Secretary of HUD Shaun Donovan as proof of our commitment to spending down our respective grants. • Worked with the County and City agencies to acquire one-million dollars in tax-foreclosed property for a variety of strategic reasons.• Provide mapping and data analysis for Mayor Dave Bing, Group Executive Karla Henderson, Executive Director Rob Anderson and a plethora of other City agencies, non-profits, and residents.• Work with staff on RFP’s for the sale and rental of City-owned property.• Work closely with the Mayor’s Office to answer questions relating to Planning and Development.• Board Member of Homeless Action Network of Detroit, the Continuum of Care provider.

Working for the Downtown Development Authority of Adrian to integrate college students into downtown and in the process help to revitalize the area.

Help organize and manage the Student Town Initiative; focused on bringing together students with the business and non-profit community to revitalize the city and downtown of Adrian. Successfully submitted a State grant for a $280,000 farmer's market structure, currently working on environmental review and administration of the grant. Spearheaded a redevelopment district liquor license resolution to encourage restaurants to rehabilitate downtown buildings. Worked to design and develop a pilot fixed bus route connecting Adrian, in particular the downtown and the institutions of higher education. We also installed an online and cell phone enable real time system for the bus riders. Research different laws and best practices to help revitalize downtown and the City in general.

Helped developed evaluation tools for pilot homelessness program with 150 participants and helped to manage the program, working with case workers when problems arose. Created descriptive statistics and audited the information collection system for homeless families in Massachusetts to help ascertain an accurate method to account for the homeless families and gave ideas to improve the data collection process.

Worked as an Americorps Vista Member in Lansing, MI. Worked directly to engage the community through youth programs (I ran two), a free sumer music festival and basketball competition, door-to-door outreach, and worked on organizing the community and the businesses around a road diet for two major one-way roads that bisected the neighborhood.
