About Gregory Whitaker
I have a wide array of experience, mostly related to the weather and atmospheric sciences. I started off my career by gaining experience in Broadcast Meteorology at RU-tv, WRSU Radio, and News12 New Jersey. I also worked as an Operational Forecaster for PSE&G. Through my positions testing AWIPS system software, and assessing weather instruments for the National Weather Service (NWS) I have broadened my area of experience and understanding of technical weather knowledge. My position as an Integration and Test Engineer with Harris Corporation was not only my most challenging job to date, but it was also my favorite. It allowed me to learn more about the Federal Aviation Administration, and the crucial role that different tools have on day-to-day air-traffic organizations. It also helped me to develop into a Lead and work with a number of different disciplines, gaining knowledge on Systems, Integration, Test, and Quality Engineering. I served as a Group Lead for 3 years, and even began training to become an Engineering Manager. My career goal is to oversee an operational meteorology organization and to perform analysis of weather sensors for improved deployment and production purposes. My passion is working with people and bringing teams together to accomplish common goals and solve problems.
