I am a researcher specializing in lighting simulation and rendering, high dynamic-range imaging, and photography. I authored and continue to maintain the Radiance ray-tracing system and the Photosphere HDR image builder and browser. I also co-invented BrightSide Technologies' HDR display system (now owned by Dolby). My emphasis has always been on working, practical systems, as opposed to purely academic pursuits. I have co-authored two textbooks, one on Radiance and another or HDR imaging.
