He is a consultant to numerous Boeing, industry and U.S. Government programs. An expert in web-based, object-oriented and knowledge-based software, Mr. Smith served as software director and architect for the NIST sponsored Pre-Competitive Advanced Manufacturing Processes (PreAmp) program, the IDA sponsored ARIES program and the DARPA sponsored Team Integrated Electronics Response (TIGER) program. The PreAmp and TIGER programs focused on developing, integrating and deploying data exchange protocols (ISO 10303, STEP) into the engineering environment. The ARIES program focused on capturing and reusing design knowledge. His work in executing the PreAMP and TIGER programs led to award-winning, innovative software used by the Boeing, the U.S. Government, universities and numerous Fortune 500 companies.
