This will move the industry into ground-breaking areas including digital twins, artificial intelligence and automation.• Influenced Federal Government policy to improve outcomes for communities in the resilience of infrastructure assets, business and cyber security outcomes, safe management and disposal of buried asbestos pipe.• Directed a national $20M CRC-P project to develop first of kind national guidelines on structural pipe liners to extend buried asset life by 50%, creating a market for manufacturers and providing Australia with a lead opportunity in pipeline sensing and robotics.• Changing the national approach to management of buried asbestos cement pipes, saving over $11Bn for the Australian water sector and providing a safer approach to the management of buried asbestos pipe for the community.

Established over 50 leading practice case studies for asset management in the water industry internationally, and strong networks between each participant.

Ensuring attainment of environmental compliance, delivering the sustainability and energy management program, coordinating the core business research and development program and leading knowledge management within the business.Key Achievements: • Strengthening South East Water’s stakeholder engagement positions with the Environment Protection Authority and Department of Health on environment and product quality issues, including the diversification of water sources, assisting the business to harness alternative water sources whilst minimising business risk.• Developing a core research agenda that expanded the range of product applications which addressed current and emerging risks to drinking water and alternate water sources.• Leveraging funds and resources to deliver a return on investment of up to 12x the business cash investment through collaborative integration of South East Water’s research objectives with other water businesses and industry research groups such as Smart Water, the Water Services Association of Australia, Water Quality Research Australia and the Australian Recycled Water Centre of Excellence. • Supporting customer engagement approaches on environmental issues in relation to innovative options for sewerage delivery on the Mornington Peninsula. The outcomes of these efforts resulted in savings of over $160M for the local community. • Developing a knowledge management program for South East Water to foster an internal knowledge management culture to enhance business efficiency. • Representative to the VicWater Sustainability Task Group and managed the internal Sustainability Management Committee to enhance corporate social accountability.
