As a Principal Production Engineer I focus across all cloud services in the Oracle Cloud Service Centre to improve site reliability, performance and operability. I work across line of business guiding managers and engineers of SaaS, PaaS and Infrastructure services to maintain and enhance their services that generate over 270 billion platform transactions weekly through the Oracle Cloud Service Centre. It's my responsibility to ensure the most significant live service events are mitigated quickly, clear communications are sent to customers and to phone and brief the executive duty officer (Senior Vice President) in a regular cadence. In addition to incident manager, my proactive responsibilities include the development of fleet wide automation for detection/triage/remediation, monitoring/telemetry and best practices. These proactive responsibilities stem from post mortem analysis of incidents and problems which I conduct. The global production engineering team scrum weekly and use agile methodologies to coordinate work. I use Jira, Kanban boards and Developer Cloud service running a GIT repository to manage project work and automation code lines.
