Understanding the impacts and effectiveness of Nature-based Solutions and Nature Recovery projects on landscape multifunctionality through the lens of remote sensing. This research study is being developed in partnership with NGOs, community led projects, private landowners and land management agencies across Sussex (UK).

As part of the Landscape Ecology Programme, I researched above-ground carbon storage in different habitat types through remote sensing (UAV, LiDAR, hyperspectral, and multispectral). By using high-resolution technology, I helped develop methodologies to measure carbon to better understand the carbon storage contributions provided by landscapes and how to integrate them into public policies.

Through a Green Recovery Challenge Fund project, I was responsible to implement conservation efforts in statutory land to protect and promote biodiversity and to inspire local communities to take action for nature in the Greater Manchester area.

At Associação BioLiving I was challenged to develop, manage and implement activities, events, projects and partnerships with the aim to promote biodiversity, the ecological restoration of degraded habitats and public awareness about environmental sustainability. Through environmental education approaches, I worked closely with all community sectors (NGO, schools, local authorities, universities, private landowners and many more) to implement meaningful nature conservation efforts in natural, rural and urban areas to promote functional and sustainable landscapes.
