Gurprit is a founder and Director of Ethical Reading, a non-profit social enterprise. The core aim of Ethical Reading is to improve ethical behaviour in organisations of all types in the Reading area with a particular focus on employee engagement, community engagement and the environment. Gurprit was Director of Emerging Technologies at Microsoft and Chief Technologist (CT) within HP's Enterprise Group in EMEA focussing on the Finance Sector. At Microsoft, he was responsible for developing and orchestrating the execution of the Microsoft UK subsidiary’s strategy for emerging technologies.     I retired from HP and full-time employment to take time out and focus on a small number of core activities to better balance priorities. These included (1) spending more time with my family and travelling. (2) Running - I have run the London, Paris and Liverpool Marathons, numerous half half-marathons and 10k runs. (3) Philosophical studies in Ethics & (4) An initiative to drive greater ethical behaviour in business in the Reading/ Thames Valley area. The plan is to announce the project in the second half of the year and launch it as a socially responsible enterprise.
